A Little Night Music

October 21, 2017 7:30 PM at First Church, Boston

Three young pianists will take center stage with the Chamber Orchestra of Boston presents “A Little Night Music.” Charles Molten, Raner Chow and Felicity Zhang are the soloists for the Boston première of Suite Petite by Robert Edward Smith.

Renowned piano teacher Mila Filatova commissioned the new work to give young students an opportunity to play with orchestra. Mr. Smith says, “The work was written in such a way as to be understandable to a child, while being interesting enough to engage an adult audience. Special attention had to be given to the size of a child’s hand, which cannot play certain intervals that would be easy for an adult.”

Also on the program are Mozart’s famous Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Borodin’s romantic Nocturne, and beautiful new works by Brian Balmages and Oliver Caplan.
